Bio
Julie Polcyn is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. She began her career by graduating with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and working as an assistant for individuals with developmental disabilities. Julie went on to become a registered nurse and began working at an inpatient psychiatric facility, where she helped to stabilize patients with serious mental illnesses. She then went on to receive a master’s degree in nursing and became licensed as an advanced practice registered nurse and board-certified as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. While working in community mental health, Julie often witnessed patients struggle to overcome barriers to obtain mental health services and, because of this, has dedicated her career to fulfilling the need for accessible, affordable, and high-quality mental health services. In her free time, she enjoys cooking various new foods and spending time with her fiancé, daughter, and two Doberman fur babies.
