Marisa Pappas is an Associate Clinical Social Worker. She received her Bachelor's in Behavioral Science and her Master's in Social Work from San Diego State University with a concentration in Mental Health and Aging. Marisa has worked with older adults, transitional-aged youth, and adults in areas of mood, anxiety, trauma, and neurodegenerative disorders. She has experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-informed Care.
She takes a Humanistic Approach in therapy, which values the client's autonomy and is rooted in self-fulfillment, subjective perspective, and gaining skills to learn mastery over one's life. She is passionate about reducing stigmas surrounding mental health and using mindfulness and lifestyle factors to promote brain health. In her spare time, she enjoys nature, yoga, hiking, reading books on Neuroscience, and enjoying many genres of music.
