She received her Master of Social Work from Walden University of Minneapolis, MN with a concentration in Children and Families. She is a former Army B.R.A.T., Military spouse of 16 years, and a mother of two.

In her free time, Kristel enjoys reading many books, biking (stationary and off road), yoga, meditation for mental peace, exercising for health, dancing wildly, singing terribly, trying new foods and watching her children grow.
