Can I use insurance with Cerebral?

Cerebral offers in-network coverage by several qualifying insurers in the states listed below. You can check your eligibility for in-network coverage directly with your insurance plan, or in your Cerebral Patient Dashboard after purchasing and activating a self-pay plan. If preferred, we can help you with paperwork to submit to your insurance company after sign-up.

There is a $30 a month charge that provides access to all platform benefits and care coordination support. Any charges for your plan’s cost sharing,  such as deductibles, copays, or co-insurance, remain your financial responsibility - these are outlined in your insurance plan.

We’re currently expanding the insurance providers we work with.

If you’re not currently a client:

Check if your plan is accepted

If you’re an existing client, log in and go to My Account to check if you’re covered.

If you are covered, your monthly subscription will be reduced to $30/mo (in addition to any out-of-pocket costs not covered by your insurance plan like medication costs, copays, deductibles, or co-insurance). This fee entitles you to all of the benefits included in your service.

If I subscribe to a service, is there a commitment or can I cancel anytime?

No, Cerebral subscriptions can be canceled at any time before your next billing cycle to avoid another subscription charge. (You may see other charges after your billing cycle ends, including any outstanding copays or medication costs.)

If you do want to stop treatment, we recommend discussing your options with your therapist or medication prescriber before you cancel to find the most effective way to do so. We also recommend staying on a treatment plan for at least 3 months to see the most effective results.

What is Strong Start?

Strong Start is a discount we offer for clients who want to commit to several months of treatment up front. New clients can choose this billing option when they sign up.

We offer 2-4 month packages depending on the service you choose.

Strong Start is our way of rewarding new clients who are ready to commit to their care with a discount on their first few months of service.

Strong Start gives clients time and encouragement to:

  • Build a solid relationship with their therapist
  • Adjust to medication (if clinically appropriate)
  • Get familiar with their treatment plan and mental health routine

Strong Start packages:

Medication
$236 for 4 months of service
(save $40/mo for 4 months)

Therapy
$490 for 2 months of service
(save $50/mo for 2 months)

Meds + Therapy
$598 for 2 months of service
(save $66/mo for 2 months)

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. We offer month-to-month subscription plans, as well as discounts if you pay for more than one month at once. You can cancel anytime before your subscription renewal date to avoid your next charge.

It’s recommended that clients meet with their therapist or prescriber regularly for at least 3 months to see the most meaningful improvements. We’re here to help if you decide you no longer want or need our services. You can switch therapists or medication prescribers anytime as well.

I canceled my subscription, why am I still seeing charges from Cerebral?

After you cancel, your subscription will remain active until the end of your billing cycle — which means you can still access our services until your billing cycle ends.

Any services you use during that time that are not covered by your subscription will be billed to your payment method on file, and may be charged after the end of your billing cycle.

These services may include medication refilled by CerebralRx, or additional sessions with your therapist or prescriber beyond what is included in your plan.

If you use insurance to pay for your services, you may have additional co-pays, deductibles, or co-insurance costs not covered by your insurance. Sometimes these processes take extra time and charges may occur after your billing cycle ends. If you have questions about what you may owe outside of your insurance coverage, contact your insurance provider.

If you have questions or concerns with billing or payment, contact: support@cerebral.com

Can I use insurance if I sign up for a Strong Start plan?

Not at this time.

However, you can check with your insurance provider about submitting the cost of your subscription as an out-of-network claim for potential reimbursement. You can also use your HSA or FSA funds as your payment method at checkout.

Can I switch therapists or prescribers if I signed up for a Strong Start plan?

Yes. If you feel your clinician isn’t a good fit, log into your account and click on your therapist or prescriber’s profile to see other available clinicians.

How many therapy sessions do I get with a Strong Start package?

You get the same amount of sessions and all the same benefits as a month-to-month subscription plan.

See all plan details here

What if I miss an appointment during my Strong Start term?

Not a problem. Log into your account to schedule a new session or reschedule an existing session anytime.

Do I need to pay for shipping on medication?

If you are using CerebralRx as your preferred pharmacy, shipping costs are included in the cost of your subscription plan.

We offer free expedited shipping on all medications shipped through CerebralRx.

What if my insurance isn’t accepted right now?

If your insurance provider is not currently in-network with Cerebral, you may still use your insurance to cover the cost of your Cerebral services.

You can use your HSA or FSA cards as your primary payment method.

You can submit an itemized invoice (superbill) for HSA or FSA reimbursement.

You can submit an itemized invoice (superbill) as an out-of-network claim to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

Log into your account and send us a message to request a superbill.

Contact your insurance provider if you need help submitting a claim, using your HSA or FSA funds, or have questions about reimbursement.

How do I cancel my subscription?

To cancel your subscription:

  • Log in to your account through the mobile app or on a web browser
  • Click the menu in the top right corner of the screen
  • Go to My Account, then Subscription Plan > Cancel Subscription

Your subscription will stay active until your billing cycle ends. You can still meet with your prescriber or therapist during this time.

Once your billing cycle ends, you will no longer have access to your prescriber or therapist.
You can request your medical records anytime by emailing support@cerebral.com.

If you choose to re-subscribe later, we can’t guarantee your previous prescriber or therapist will still be available. But you will see all available prescribers or therapists in your state, and can choose someone else to work with.

Any outstanding costs of services not covered by your recurring subscription fee will be billed to your payment method after your subscription ends — including medication refills or additional sessions beyond what’s included in your plan.

We encourage you to discuss cancelation options with your prescriber or therapist before canceling your subscription. They can help you form a plan to safely transition out of your Cerebral therapy or medication plan. Whatever the situation, we are here to listen and help.

You can use your HSA or FSA card as your primary payment method in your account.
