Cerebral offers in-network coverage by several qualifying insurers in the states listed below. You can check your eligibility for in-network coverage directly with your insurance plan, or in your Cerebral Patient Dashboard after purchasing and activating a self-pay plan. If preferred, we can help you with paperwork to submit to your insurance company after sign-up.

We’re currently expanding the insurance providers we work with.
If you’re not currently a client:
Check if your plan is accepted
If you’re an existing client, log in and go to My Account to check if you’re covered.
If you are covered, your monthly subscription will be reduced to $30/mo (in addition to any out-of-pocket costs not covered by your insurance plan like medication costs, copays, deductibles, or co-insurance). This fee entitles you to all of the benefits included in your service.
Why do I need a referral from my PCP if I have an HMO insurance plan?
Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) insurance plans often require a referral from your primary care physician (PCP) before seeing a specialist like a therapist or prescriber. In an HMO plan, your PCP acts as a guide and is there to help determine which services are medically necessary for you and coordinate care with the specialist. Without a referral, you will be responsible for the full cost of services that may have otherwise been covered with a referral.
To avoid paying costs that may be covered, request a referral from your PCP before your first session with your therapist or prescriber.
If you’ve checked whether we accept your insurance plan, you’ll get an email with the details you need to share with your PCP when you request a referral.

Can I use insurance?
We are in-network with several insurance providers, and you can use insurance to help cover the cost of your subscription. However, our pharmacy, CerebralRx, does not currently process insurance claims for medications they ship. You can use your HSA or FSA funds as your payment method to cover the cost of your meds. We can also provide a superbill for you to submit as an out-of-network claim to your insurance provider. Actual reimbursement amounts will depend on your specific plan. Learn more
If I subscribe to a service, is there a commitment or can I cancel anytime?
Cerebral subscriptions can be canceled at any time before your next billing cycle to avoid another subscription charge. (You may see other charges after your billing cycle ends, including any outstanding copays or medication costs.)
If you do want to stop treatment, we recommend discussing your options with your therapist or medication prescriber before you cancel to find the most effective way to do so. We also recommend staying on a treatment plan for at least 3 months to see the most effective results.
Can I use my HSA or FSA cards to pay for my Cerebral subscription?
You can use your HSA or FSA card as your primary payment method in your account.
OR
If you use a different primary payment method, you can send us a message in your account to request an itemized receipt (superbill) and submit it to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
Contact your insurance provider to find out if you have HSA or FSA funds, how to submit any receipts for reimbursement, and how much you might get reimbursed.
Can I use insurance?
Yes, Cerebral is in network with several insurance providers and is in the process of expanding who we work with.
If you’re not currently a client — check if your plan is accepted
If you’re an existing client — log in and go to My Account to check if you’re covered.
If you are covered, you will not pay the monthly subscription price out of pocket, and will instead pay a $30/mo membership fee, plus any costs not covered by your insurance plan (like copays, deductibles, or co-insurance).
What’s included in therapy
Do I need to pay for shipping on medication?
If you are using CerebralRx as your preferred pharmacy, shipping costs are included in the cost of your subscription plan.
If you are using a local pharmacy, you can pick up and pay for the medications at their location.
Does Cerebral accept Medicaid, Medicare Part B, or Federal payor programs?
No, at this time Cerebral does not currently participate in any federal payor programs, including Medicare plans B, C or D or state Medicaid plans. You may elect to pay out of pocket if you are a Medicare beneficiary. If you are a CHAMPUS beneficiary, you may also elect to pay out of pocket and may be eligible for reimbursement.
How do I cancel my subscription?
To cancel your subscription:
- Log in to your account through the mobile app or on a web browser
- Click the menu in the top right corner of the screen
- Go to My Account, then Subscription Plan > Cancel Subscription
Your subscription will stay active until your billing cycle ends. You can still meet with your prescriber or therapist during this time.
Once your billing cycle ends, you will no longer have access to your prescriber or therapist.
You can request your medical records anytime by emailing support@cerebral.com.
If you choose to re-subscribe later, we can’t guarantee your previous prescriber or therapist will still be available. But you will see all available prescribers or therapists in your state, and can choose someone else to work with.
Any outstanding costs of services or medications not covered by your recurring subscription fee will be billed to your payment method after your subscription ends — including medication refills or additional sessions beyond what’s included in your plan.
We encourage you to discuss cancelation options with your prescriber or therapist before canceling your subscription — as there may be risks associated with stopping your medication or treatment abruptly. They can help you form a plan to safely transition out of your Cerebral therapy or medication plan. Whatever the situation, we are here to listen and help.

Can I see any therapist or prescriber at Cerebral?
When you choose a therapy or medication service, we’ll show you therapists and prescribers who are licensed in your state. If you are using insurance, we’ll also show you therapists and prescribers who are in network with your insurance provider.
I don’t see my insurance provider here, is there anything I can do?
If your insurance provider is not currently in-network with Cerebral, you may have other payment options to cover some or all of the costs of your Cerebral services.
- You can use your HSA or FSA cards as your primary payment method.
- You can submit an itemized invoice (superbill) for HSA or FSA reimbursement.
- You can submit an itemized invoice (superbill) as an out-of-network claim to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

I canceled my subscription, why am I still seeing charges from Cerebral?
After you cancel, your subscription will remain active until the end of your billing cycle — which means you can still access our services until your billing cycle ends.
Any services you use during that time that are not covered by your subscription will be billed to your payment method on file, and may be charged after the end of your billing cycle.
These services may include medication refilled by CerebralRx, or additional sessions with your therapist or prescriber beyond what is included in your plan.
If you use insurance to pay for your services, you may also have additional co-pays, deductibles, or co-insurance costs not covered by your insurance. Getting the details from insurance plans usually takes extra time to process, so charges often occur after your billing cycle ends. If you have questions about what you may owe outside of your insurance coverage, contact your insurance provider.
If you have questions or concerns with billing or payment, contact: support@cerebral.com
Can I get a refund if I cancel before the end of my subscription term?
All purchases are final once paid. All fees, including subscription fees, are non-refundable regardless of whether services are utilized, unless prohibited by applicable law.
However, you may cancel your subscription at any time in accordance with Section 1.4 Cancellations and Refunds to stop incurring future subscription fees.
We reserve the right to issue refunds or credits at our sole discretion. If we issue a refund or credit in one instance, we are under no obligation to issue the same refund or credit in the future.
