Teresa Amelio is a Licensed Master of Social Work, 096078-01. Employed by Cerebral. Supervised by Mike Cotayo LCSW-R. Teresa has been working in the human services field for the last 13 years. She earned a master’s degree from Adelphi University. She utilizes different treatment modalities such as Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Person-Centered Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy. Throughout the years, Teresa has had the opportunity to work in variety of settings with diverse populations. Teresa has experience in domestic violence, patient advocacy and empowerment, client education, support services, early intervention services, dual diagnosis treatment with substance abuse along with crisis intervention in a hospital-based setting. Throughout her career, she worked very hard in helping others regain their voice and reclaim control in a time when they felt they did not have any. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She is a big animal lover, particularly cats. She also enjoys nature, learning about holistic wellness and self-care.
