She received her Masters degree from National University in Counseling Psychology and Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, San Bernardino in Sociology. For the last 10 years, Maria has worked in non-profit agencies assisting children, women, and their families. As a clinician, she has focused working with children and families heal and recover from traumatic experiences. She has extensive clinical experience assisting clients with depression and anxiety, and collaborating with mental health entities such as the Department of Children and Family Services and the Juvenile Probation system. Since the beginning of the pandemic she has had the opportunity to provide telehealth services to many clients experiencing grief and adjusting to changes that the pandemic has caused.
