Johnathan Mehrtens is a licensed counselor (LCPC/LPC) in Illinois and South Carolina. He received a Masters in Counseling from Lindenwood University, and has been practicing therapy for over seven years. Johnathan believes in taking a collaborative and supportive approach to therapy. He works with a wide range of concerns, with a special focus on PTSD, ADHD, depression, anxiety/panic, and boundaries. He also has experience with borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder, grief, relationships, and career counseling. To help with these issues, he utilizes CBT, Mindfulness, Feminist therapy, and trauma informed practices. Specifically for trauma, he engages clients in Narrative Exposure Therapy. He has led trainings on the impacts of trauma and methods for treating it. Johnathan has been passionate about making mental health treatment more accessible since providing counseling to homeless teens in a crisis program. In his free time, he enjoys woodworking, riding roller coasters, and hanging with his amazing cat, Albus.
