Johnathan is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois. He received his Master of Arts in Counseling from Lindenwood University. He utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness practices, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Trauma-Informed interventions. He believes in taking a supportive and collaborative approach with clients, working alongside them to achieve positive outcomes in therapy.
Johnathan works with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, job stress, relationships, and PTSD, holding a special interest in Complex PTSD. He has led trainings on the impacts of trauma and methods for treating it.
Johnathan has been passionate about making mental health treatment more accessible to everyone since his first position working in a crisis program with teens and young adults experiencing homelessness.
Outside of Cerebral, he enjoys being present in nature, woodworking, traveling, riding roller coasters (Millennium Force is his favorite), and watching true crime shows with his cat, Albus.
