Alyson Hinz is an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, APCC8621. She graduated from Towson University with a BS in Psychology, and Johns Hopkins University with a MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Alyson has experience working with families, children, and adults through a school based agency, private practice, and a substance abuse dual diagnosis treatment center. She enjoys incorporating mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, solution focused approaches, positive psychology, and experiential practices such as yoga, art, and mediation into her clinical practice. She specializes in working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, life changes, ADHD, and substance abuse. Alyson believes that everyone can benefit from therapy no matter the issues they are facing, and that therapy is a great place to start exploring your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with no judgement or bias. She believes that treatment should be tailored towards each individual’s needs, and that clients should feel empowered in the therapeutic process. In her free time, Alyson enjoys spending time in nature, hiking, trying new foods, watching football, exercising, traveling, and spending time with her friends, family, and dog.
