Taylor Parrino is a Care Counselor at Cerebral with a background in youth and young adult trauma recovery. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from California State University, San Marcos and her Master of Science degree in Psychology from Arizona State University. Her professional background includes teaching special education and working in trauma and crisis recovery on a children’s hospital inpatient psychiatric unit. She has experience working with clients and patients ranging in diagnoses and experiences from development disabilities, personality and mood disorders, significant trauma and abuse histories, and other mental health impairments. In graduate school, Taylor focused her research on the impact that mood disorders have on psychosocial development. Because of this, she is determined to create a positive and supportive environment to help clients develop the coping and social skills necessary to live fulfilling and successful lives. She believes in a trust-based approach to cognitive behaviorism and aims to challenge maladaptive thinking and behaviors by improving emotion regulation and developing helpful, personalized strategies to target recurring problems. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors with her two huskies, trying new recipes in the kitchen, and watching classic thriller films!
