Processing Grief and Loss

There is no right or wrong way to grieve, but there are a million different ways to grieve, and every healthy method of grieving is valid. Inevitably, the grieving process takes time. Healing happens gradually; it can’t be forced or hurried—and there is no “normal” timetable for grieving. Some people start to feel better in weeks or months. For others, the grieving process is measured in years. Grieving is also not a linear process. One moment you feel you’ve fully moved past something, the next moment it’s right back in front of your face. That’s because grief is insidious, imposing and demands to be felt.
