Dealing with Difficult Emotions & Intrusive Thoughts

Unwanted intrusive thoughts can cause great distress. They may feel like they come out of nowhere and trigger emotions such as anxiety, guilt, disgust, panic, or even misery. A solution to overcoming these difficult emotions is to practice mindfulness. Having a mindfulness practice allows you to soothe yourself and calm down. When you are able to calm down, you have the opportunity to reflect rather than react.
