Tahirat believes that access to equal and quality mental health care is not just a fundamental human right but an important ingredient in the pursuit of happiness and overall well-being.Tahirat approach to therapy is person-centered and uses various therapeutic modalities to create a personalized care plan. Tahirat is well versed in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Trauma Informed Care. Tahirat’s strength is in understanding the innate needs of her clients and guiding them through their healing process. Tahirat perspective towards therapy is that it is a combined team effort focused on the wellbeing of the clients' mental health by providing tools, techniques and strategies that can be used on a daily basis. Tahirat believes that a therapist merely provides the safe space, the tools, and understanding needed for the client to spearhead their own healing.

Tahirat Nasiru is a NY based Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LMSW), specializing in one on one counseling for individuals with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) including depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, and interpersonal issues. Tahirat comes from a multicultural background with over 9 years of experience servicing individuals of various cultures, ethnicities, religious beliefs and sexual orientation. She received her Master of Social Work degree from Silberman School of Social Work with a specialization in Children, Youth, and Families. She also received training and education in recovery oriented, evidence-based practices for adults diagnosed with Serious Mental Illness.
