Approach to Therapy
Sean has worked in the social service field for over 10 years! He started off working with youth and families with DCFS involvement as a residential therapist. He is very proud of being able to reunite families, break negative generational patterns, and provide his clients with a clearer path to success. He has a wealth of experience in working with trauma and other anxiety-related disorders. He also worked with clients who experienced attachment problems, domestic abuse, sexual, emotional, and physical abuse, and developmental issues. He uses talk therapy, art therapy, and is trauma informed. He uses a combination of Cognitive Behavioral and Adlerian therapy, which supports his clients in gaining insight into how their behaviors, feelings, and actions impact how they see themselves and the world around them. He is also formally trained in ARC therapy (attachment, regulation, and competency). Beginning the therapy process can be scary! However, it takes courage and strength to reach out for support. You are brave, and Sean hopes to start working with you soon!Experience
Sean has worked with individuals from all walks of life. He graduated from Adler School of Professional Psychology (located in Chicago, IL) in 2014 and has since earned his independent license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. Sean has worked one-on-one with clients in individual therapy and collectively in ground and family. He also has worked alongside clients in teaching ADLs (active daily living skills) and IADLs (independent active daily living skills) to those entering into adulthood. Sean has also managed teams of therapists and case managers as a clinical supervisor.Specialties
