Approach to Therapy

Leslie draws upon a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), narrative therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused therapy. She also has particular expertise in trauma treatment, and in 2023 she completed an eight-month certificate program in traumatic stress studies with Bessel van der Kolk, author of The Body Keeps the Score. She strives to create a collaborative, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel supported in their efforts to grow and change, and she is passionate about improving access to mental health treatment for all who are seeking help.

Leslie Lass is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). She received her master of social work (MSW) degree from Simmons University in Boston, Massachusetts, and she also has a PhD with a focus on education from the Union Institute & University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Leslie has experience helping individuals with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, childhood trauma, adjustment to illness, life and career transitions, self-esteem issues, and relationship issues. She has also worked extensively with clients diagnosed with bipolar disorder and psychotic disorders.
