Bio
Laura is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with experience in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings. Laura works with patients of all ages and her approach to treatment is holistic, as she considers how the mind, body and culture play a role in the patient experience. Living in Hawaii since childhood, she enjoys working with the diverse island population, and has also worked many years within the military community.
In her free time Laura enjoys swimming and snorkeling, spending time with family, and keeping up with her family and friends around the world.
Laura's areas of focus are; depression, postpartum depression, anxiety, adjustment disorder, grief/loss/bereavement, PTSD, mood disorder, and schizoaffective disorders.
Laure has experience working with patients from varying different demographic backgrounds. She has experience with; adolescents/young adults, adults, geriatrics, military, veterans, and students.
The Therapeutic modalities that Laura utilizes are; medication management, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, motivational interviewing, person-centered therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, and narrative therapy.
