Bio
Dr. Laurel E. Blackman is a board-certified psychiatrist. While working as a certified special education early childhood teacher, volunteering across Central and South America, and practicing community psychiatry, Dr. Blackman devoted her attention to excellence in standards of care, access to treatment, and finding comfort and purpose through connection, curiosity, and humanness.
She defines recovery as doing the most you can with what you have while also simultaneously paving the way for greater opportunity, satisfaction, and choice so options for life and living are ever expanding. She has a passion for helping folks go from now to next, asking every patient, "What are your hopes and dreams, and how can I help?".
Dr. Blackman is an avid adventurer and dabbler in decorative arts, combing auctions and resale shops for mid-century modern pieces.
