Demetria is a board-certified Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 25 years of experience working with psychiatric patients across the lifespan. Her areas of expertise includes the following: Child/Adolescent, Eating Disorders, Dual Diagnosis, Geriatrics, Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Psychotic Disorders, and Forensics. She is passionate about delivering high-quality psychiatric care to patients of all ages, but most importantly, underserved communities. She has a diverse nursing background in psychiatry working as a Registered Nurse at inpatient psychiatric hospitals, and crisis centers. Additionally, she has worked in medicine as a Registered Nurse specializing in Pediatrics, Operating Room, Surgical/Telemetry, and Emergency Department.
Most importantly, she obtained a Post-Master's Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certificate from Thomas Jefferson University, a Master's of Science in Nursing Leadership - Legal Nurse Consultant from Wilmington University, a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from Delaware State University, and a Bachelor's of Science in Dietetics from Delaware State University.
