ABOUT Yocasta Almonte

Yocasta Almonte is a Licensed Master Social Worker. She received an MSW degree from the Hunter College Silberman School of Social Work with a concentration in clinical case work with children, youth, and families. She uses an eclectic style of therapy which combines humanistic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and the use of mindfulness during sessions. She has treated symptoms related to: depression, anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem, substance abuse, conflicts within the work environment, childhood trauma, stress and anticipatory anxiety impacting academic careers, and intimate partner and domestic violence. Her goal is to create a unique space for the client that promotes safety and empowerment while they are introspective and delve into their thought patterns and emotions. In her spare time, Yocasta loves to sew, write poetry, cook, and listen to music. Self-care if a MUST in Yocasta’s life.
