Van Otto is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC.0018544). She has received her Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University. Van has experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational interviewing, and utilizes a Strength-Based approach with her clients. She believes in creating a safe environment and empowering her clients to move toward positive change and growth at their own pace. Helping people become the best version of themselves through compassion, trust, and connection is her passion. Van has experience working with seniors and caregivers who experience stress, isolation, depression, anxiety, and loss. She facilitates an Alzheimer’s caregiver support group which focuses on providing emotional support and psychoeducation for caregivers who have a loved one diagnosed with dementia. In her free time, Van enjoys playing tennis, biking, meditating, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
