ABOUT Taryn McDonald

Taryn McDonald is an Associate Therapist (AMFT), specializing in young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, perfectionism and relational distress. She received her Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University after completing her BA in Psychology at the University of Southern California. Taryn believes that although we may all share similar experiences, our interpretations of those experiences are what make us unique. She tailors her treatments to each individual she works with, incorporating modalities such as Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and taking a more relational, collaborative approach with her clients. Taryn is passionate about removing the stigma around mental health treatment and creating a vital space for authenticity and introspection. In her free time, you can find Taryn playing the piano, overanalyzing unscripted television, and spending time outside with her loved ones - especially her dog, Barack.

Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced. - James Baldwin
