Tahirat Nasiru is a NY based Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LMSW), specializing in one on one counseling for individuals with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) including depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, and interpersonal issues. She comes from a multicultural background with over 9 years of experience servicing individuals of various cultures, ethnicities, religious beliefs and sexual orientation. Tahirat received her Master of Social Work degree from Silberman School of Social Work with a specialization in Children, Youth, and Families. She also received training and education in recovery oriented, evidence-based practices for adults diagnosed with Serious Mental Illness. Tahirat is well versed in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Trauma Informed Care. She believes that a therapist merely provides the safe space, the tools, and understanding needed for the client to spearhead their own healing.
