Samantha Gioia is a Licensed Master Social Worker in the state of New York. She obtained her Masters in Social Work from Adelphi University in New York City. Samantha has over six years of experience working with diverse populations who are experiencing crisis, depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, addiction, grief, self-esteem, learning disabilities, and adjustment issues. Though she does not believe there is a one-size-fits-all solution, she utilizes evidence-based practices and a strengths-based approach to lead to empowerment that is tailored uniquely for the client. Samantha has experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Therapy (CT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Psychotherapy, Play Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Problem Solving Therapy. She strives to provide a safe space and build a trusting relationship with clients where they can explore thoughts, feelings and behaviors by acknowledging, accepting, and acting together. Her passion continues to lie in reducing the stigma around mental health and the barriers that prevent treatment and care from being accessible. When Samantha's not working with clients, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and dog. The beach is her favorite place and finds her own therapeutic outlet through macramé.
