Nikki Coulter is a Resident in Counseling and an Associate Therapist in the state of Virginia. She received her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Prescott College with an emphasis in somatic therapies (the mind-body connection). Nikki’s goal is to provide a safe and welcoming space for clients to process challenges. The methods she uses typically include a blend of talk therapy and mindfulness practices that encourage a gentle exploration of issues. Nikki has a background in bodywork and is training in Somatic Experiencing (SE). She has seen personally and through her clients, the profound impact stress and trauma can have on both the mind and the physical body. Developing self-awareness of how trauma itself is currently impacting one’s thoughts, feelings, and actions can assist in uncovering and changing patterns that are no longer useful to them. In her free time, Nikki enjoys reading, binge-watching shows with her husband, and planning for their family's future homestead.
As a Resident in Counseling, she is under the supervision of Corby Lane, LPC, and Sherry Todd, PhD, LPC.
