Nicole Ellen is a Licensed Professional Counselor from the beautiful North Carolina coast. She has close to 20 years of experience in the mental health field working with all ages in both individual and family counseling. Nicole graduated in 2013 with an MA in Human Services and began her career embedded in a family medical practice and working with providers in a rural area to identify people in the first stages of their mental health journey. She was nominated for NC Counselor of the year in 2016 and 2017 and was awarded SBM Magazines Top 10 Young Professionals in 2016. Nicole is a holistic counselor who focuses on all aspects of the body, mind and spirit to find what is necessary to maintain balance. She has experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Theory (DBT), and Mindfulness, as well as other evidence-based therapies. She has also worked extensively in her area to promote parenting and co-parenting and has also worked with children, teens and young adults who have experienced trauma. Nicole is a survivor of not one, but two brain surgeries in 2020 and is excited to be on her own healing journey. In her free time, she loves reading and finds that escaping in a good book is one of the greatest adventures.
