ABOUT Melissa (Mel) L. Middlebrook

Melissa (Mel) Middlebrook is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in New York State (107839) and is supervised by Dr. Arnoff, Clinical Psychologist. She is employed with Cerebral. Mel earned a master’s degree at Columbia University School of Social Work with a concentration in advanced clinical work. Believing there are many doors to healing, Mel has training and experience in a variety of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and complicated grief work. She is honored to join each client on a unique journey to well-being respecting that it is the client that forges the path. Mel employs techniques that increase resilience, self-compassion, and psychological flexibility. It is her hope that teletherapy will improve access to compassionate mental health care. Mel enjoys reading, restoring antique wood, writing short stories, and playing with her four cats.
