Her approach is focused on providing an authentic therapeutic relationship based on empathy, support and connection helping each client expand on their self-awareness and draw on their strengths to promote healing, positive change and growth. She prefers working with clients through an Attachment Theory lens, being Compassion-focused, utilizing Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) as models of treatment. She offers holistic care with meditation and breath work. Additionally, she provides Brainspotting to help work through Trauma. Melissa embraces a collaborative approach when working with clients who are combating depression, anxiety, trauma, relational conflict, grief, addiction, self-esteem, and life transitions.
