Megan Mikus is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate. She received her Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern California with a sub-concentration on military social work. She gained her love for working with people at a young age. She has a special place in her heart to serve the military population as well as mother's and families. She is easily approachable and is able to be an active listener which is key in providing psychosocial therapy for her clients. Being a young therapist in a pandemic world has allowed her to gain the ability to get creative with tele-therapy and gain a better understanding for mental health in today's society. Furthermore, she has a compassion for helping those who have a lot of their plate and feels that Telehealth therapy is a great option for those who are balancing their lives but need some extra support. Megan has experience in Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral therapy (DBT). She enjoys using guided imagery skills because she believes when you can channel your parasympathetic nervous system you are able to achieve a higher standard of coping for yourself. She is passionate about reducing the mental health stigma for all. In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing with her daughter and walking her dog.
