ABOUT Mary (Karin) K. Hitselberger

Karin Hitselberger is a Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern in the state of Florida. She received her Master of Science in Social Work degree from Columbia University, with a concentration in Health, Mental Health, and Disabilities. In addition to working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, and PTSD, Karin's clinical experiences and interests include: disability rights, justice, and identity, body acceptance and health at every size (HAES), sexual violence, intimate partner violence, and working with individuals with marginalized identities of all kinds. Karin takes an eclectic approach to therapy grounded in respecting the individuality of each client, and she uses a variety of techniques including motivational interviewing (MI), solution focused therapy, strengths-based approaches, mindfulness practices, and CBT techniques. Karin is passionate about making mental healthcare accessible to all people on all levels, and believes that everyone should have access to high-quality mental health support. In her free time, Karin is a freelance writer and blogger who uses the power of the written word to advocate for causes and issues she is passionate about. She is supervised by Sheilah Ledesma, LCSW
