ABOUT Kara Bax

Kara Bax is a Licensed Master Social Worker, LMSW. Employed by Cerebral. Supervised by Mike Cotayo, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW-R. Kara received her Master of Social Work from the University at Buffalo, with a concentration in Trauma-Informed Perspective. Her approach is working with clients though a trauma-informed lens, helping individuals view their presenting problems as, “What happened to me?” rather than, “What is wrong with me?”. Kara has experience working in an Integrated Behavioral Health Model, serving those who are seeking help for mental health and addiction, as well as a background in working with Victims of Domestic Violence. She is passionate about helping her clients achieve life success, relationship happiness, and addressing family-of-origin conflicts. This can include addiction, codependency, trauma, relationship issues, depression, and anxiety. Kara enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She loves a good self-help book and a good cup of coffee!
