Joshua Simpson is an Associate Clinical Social Worker, ASW97971, under the supervision of John J. Raasch, LCSW. Joshua is employed by Cerebral. He received his Master of Social Work from California State University, Long Beach, with a concentration in Integrated Health, and his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of California, San Diego with a minor in Neuroscience. Joshua has experience in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Recovery Based and Trauma Informed Care. Joshua also has experience working with youth in the foster system, people experiencing homelessness, and the LGBTQIA community. He believes in the importance of bringing a sense of acceptance and self-compassion to all parts of ourselves, even the parts we do not like. He is passionate in reducing the stigma surrounding mental health and in seeking help. In his free time, you may find him climbing a mountain, skating by the beach, exploring places unknown, or nerding out on mental health podcasts.
