Jennie Harvat is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Jennie received her Masters Degree in Social Work with a Certificate in Military Social Work from the University of Missouri. Her experience in mental health ranges from work in forensics with the chronically mentally ill, acute inpatient and crisis intervention, to outpatient therapy services. Her work with Veterans includes intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment and homelessness. Jennie has extensive training and experience in research-based psychotherapy such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Strengths-Based (Client-Centered) approaches to treat trauma, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, severe anxiety and major depression. Jennie is passionate about ending the stigma attached to mental health, especially within the military population. She believes that compassion, tolerance, kindness and empathy can be taught and are essential components to a better human race. Jennie is an avid sports fan – GO MIZZOU! In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her son’s competitive baseball team and backyard BBQs with her friends and family.
