ABOUT Irina Jacobson

Irina Jacobson is a Licensed Professional Counselor – Associate, Supervised by John Spoede, Ph.D., LPC-S. She received her MA in Counseling from Houston Baptist University, MBA from University of Houston, and BA in Education from Moscow State University, Level 2 Gottman method training, yoga teacher certification (200 hours), and is fluent in the Russian language.
Irina’s counseling approach is selected according to the clients’ specific needs and involves a combination of Person-Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral, Acceptance and Commitment, Emotion Focused, Existential, and Solution-Focused therapies. She believes in a holistic approach to healing and uses body-mind connection practices, including meditation and breathing techniques, when needed in treatment. Irina is passionate about helping clients to discover their own internal resources and power to change and seeks to create a compassionate, safe, and supportive environment in all her sessions. During her free time Irina loves to read, travel, volunteer, explore museums and theaters, practice yoga, and finds joy in the company of family and friends.
