Deanna MacDonald is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois and received her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Roosevelt University. Deanna has several years of experience working in the mental health field and specializes in crisis intervention and working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and addiction. She utilizes a variety of techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), to help clients identify their core beliefs and recognize how the automatic thoughts they experience impact their daily lives. Deanna is passionate about helping others and takes a teamwork approach to therapy, as she believes everyone deserves a safe, nonjudgmental space to work through their struggles. She believes that balance is key, so when not in session Deanna is either outside running, baking/eating chocolate chips with her daughter, or chasing after her son.
