M.A in Marriage and Family Therapy
David Joseph's mission is to cultivate life discovery, through unconditional belonging, towards restoration, wholeness and life. Through personal battles with mental health and the shame and stigma around it,
he found that, in the words of Dr. Tim McNeil, “nothing is more meaningful to me than to be present with individuals where life matters most.”
None of us exist in isolation but rather in society, work, culture, and family. David works with couples, families, friends, groups, and individual adults. He believes overcoming problems in our lives requires support. He utilizes narrative practices in counseling, recognizing that people are not the problem, the problem is the problem. You are the expert of your story and I am there to help you recognize the strengths and resources you have to get through any problems. David is also a member of clergy in the United Methodist Church, working for increased access to mental healthcare for faith communities. However, he does not use religion in counseling unless you request it. He is certified in Prepare Enrich, a couples/marriage counseling curriculum and have extensive training in Narrative Therapy.
We need your presence not your perfection. - Unknown
