Christina Hemmer is a North Dakota Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, and Certified Counselor Supervisor. She received her Masters of Education in Counseling from North Dakota State University, and a Masters of Business Administration from University of Mary. Christina has extensive experience working with adults, and adolescents using a variety of therapy modalities such as Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT, Play and sensory based therapies, and Trauma Informed Care. Additionally she provides clinical supervision to associate counselors, to support their professional and personal development.
As a person with lived experience, she understands the challenge of recognizing our mental health needs, accepting help, and building new routines. Her goal is to meet people where they are, and help build hope that healing can occur.
In her free time, Christina enjoys outdoor activities such as swimming, hiking, and getting lost in the moment. She is married and has two children. She is quick with joke and witty one-liner that her family does not find as funny as her. She can rarely remember where she left her cell phone, but always knows where the location of any of her family's 'missing' items can be located.
And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. - Anais Nin
