Amber McKinney is a Licensed Mental Health Therapist with over ten years experience in the field. Amber has worked in many settings including inpatient treatment centers for the severely mentally ill, incarceration facilities and drug treatment as well as outpatient treatment in children and families. She has the most experience with couples, families and individuals with bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety and PTSD. Amber enjoys finding something that she can relate to with her clients in order to build rapport. She is warm and compassionate and expects you to work as hard on your wellbeing as she will work with you. Amber's approach is mainly dialectical behavioral therapy along with trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy. She tends to be a very laid-back, go-with-the-flow type of person when it comes to therapy. She is here to your support system and guide you towards your goals.
In her spare time (haha, what is that?), whats Amber enjoys is camping, hiking, gardening, wood burning (as an art form, called pyrography but also around a campfire) and working with epoxy resin. She has 9 chickens, 7 cats (3 are outside!), a husband and 2 kids. Reaching out for help is step one and if you're here, you've accomplished that. Amber looks forward to meeting with you.
