Dr. Valerie Anderson is a board-certified nurse practitioner. She spent 10 years working in human services with diverse populations prior to pursuing her career in nursing. She started her nursing journey working as a bedside nurse at a local midwest regional hospital. She went on to receive a Master of Science in Nursing Education and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice and has served as faculty in both undergraduate and graduate nursing, and as director of an undergraduate nursing program at a local college. As a nurse practitioner, she has worked in many diverse settings including women's health, pediatric urgent care, and family practice.
Her extensive education and robust work experiences with diverse populations have enabled her to genuinely appreciate the value and importance of easily accessible and high quality mental health care to all individuals. In her free time, you will find her attending Yoga classes, training for marathons, raising autism awareness, traveling and eating ice cream.
