Shirley Workman is a board-certified Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist (PMHCNS-BC). She has over 40 years experience as a psychiatric nurse with 22 years as an advanced nurse practitioner.
She started her career in northeast Ohio working at the Western Reserve Psychiatric Habilitation Center and spent 19 at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA medical center before moving to Alaska. She has been an Alaska resident for 18 years with six years in artic Alaska in the village of Kotzebue and 12 years in the capitol city of Juneau.
She earned a Master of Science in Nursing and a Master of Public Administration. She has a certification in Reality Therapy and is a Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider (CMHIMP).
Her medical interests include a holistic approach in improving mental health across the life using an integrative approach offering both pharmaceutical and complimentary treatment options.
In her spare time she enjoy baking and playing with her dog, Kai, and her cat Neiko.
