Serah Han is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Winston Salem State University, after receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the same University. Serah has over 8 years of experience working with patients who suffer from acute on chronic illness with mental health conditions. She recognizes that people living with a serious mental illness are at higher risk of experiencing a wide range of chronic physical conditions. Conversely, people living with chronic physical health conditions experience depression and anxiety at twice the rate of the general population. She aims and strives to fill that gap especially to those in the rural and underserved area who struggle with access to mental health care. She believes in Cerebral's mission and vision to transform access to high-quality mental health care where anyone, regardless of their situation, can feel comfortable coming forward to get the mental health treatment they need and not be burdened by barriers like stigma, cost, and convenience. In her free time Serah gives back to her community and profession by joining her alma mater and precepting future nurses/nurse practitioners while delivering Mobile Health Clinic to the community in need.
At the root of this dilemma is the way we view mental health in this country. Whether an illness affects your heart, your leg or your brain, it's still an illness, and there should be no distinction. - Michelle Obama
