Dr. Mina Massey is a board certified physician. She grew up in a rural community in Missouri and been virtually a lifelong Missouri resident. She entered into medical school directly out of high school at the University of Missouri-Kansas CitY’s combined BA/MD program and went on to complete her residency at SIU-Carbondale in Family Medicine and an Obstetrics Fellowship in Kansas City, MO. She started her career doing Family Medicine with Obstetrics, seeing patients of all ages in the outpatient and inpatient settings. In her twenty-one years of practice, she has gained experience caring for patients in the outpatient, inpatient and emergency room settings. She has served as Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at UMKC, University of Missouri-Columbia, and A.T. Still University, as well as been a mentor to many students in nursing and PA schools. Navigating through her own life struggles, she has gained a passion for access to mental health care for all walks of life. She has spent the majority of her life practicing in rural areas. Since two thousand and four, she has enjoyed being a part of several medical missions trips providing medical care to remote areas of Ecuador, Jamaica and Honduras. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with family at the family’s lake house, with friends, trail riding with her horses or playing outside with her dogs. In quiet moments, she enjoys reading, therapeutic coloring or crafting.
