Michele Arns is a board-certified nurse practitioner. She started in healthcare as a candy striper at a local nursing home at age 13 and knew nursing was the path she wanted to take. Michele started her career in nursing as a licensed practical nurse 30 years ago. She went on to receive a Master of Science in nursing and finished with a Doctor of Nursing Practice. Michele has served as an assistant professor at East Tennessee State University as well as in many diverse areas including women’s health, urgent care, primary care, men’s health, geriatric primary care, and psychiatric care. Michele’s passion to provide quality, affordable mental health care began early as she observed the very limited access to this care in both large cities and rural areas where she has lived and worked.
Sometimes the people around you won’t understand your journey. They don’t need to, it’s not for them. – Joubert Botha
