Mindi is a board-certified nurse practitioner, encompassing 13 years of inpatient nursing experience and 8 years’ experience with bereavement and grief support. She received Resolve Through Sharing bereavement and grief training while working in a rural hospital in Iowa, whereas she worked with grieving families through her career and volunteering her time to help grieving families outside of working hours. Mindi obtained her nursing degree at Northeast Iowa Community College, then went on to pursue her Bachelor of Science in nursing at Mount Mercy University, and Master of Science in Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner with Chamberlain University. Mindi’s nursing career was honored in 2019, by receiving “100 Great Iowa Nurses” recognition and “Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses. She was also recognized for her humanitarian and philanthropy work in 2021, receiving her hometown’s chamber award of “2021 Woman of the Year.” During grad school, Mindi took her education a step further by using her training to start a nonprofit ‘Delaware County Pay It Forward,’ with a mission to decrease gaps in healthcare, mental health services, resources, and promote HOPE and humility in her community. She is very passionate about mental health, grief, and bereavement, and is driven to share HOPE with every patient she encounters. When Mindi is not caring for patients, she is working with residents in her community through her foundation, refereeing at home, or you may see her on the side lines of sporting events, being that “mom with the camera,” embracing her passion for her family and photography.
