Megan K. Painter is a board-certified nurse practitioner. Megan started her career at the age of 18 working as a certified nursing assistant at an Alzheimer's/memory care assisted living center. After having furthered her education by attaining her undergraduate nursing degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Oklahoma City, OK, Megan worked as a registered nurse over the next five years in a variety of clinical settings, including perioperative services, critical care, cardiovascular intensive care, and surgical oncology/intensive care. While she had always had an interest in behavioral health, stemming from her early employment in the memory care assisted living center, it was in oncology that Megan's passion for mental health had truly come alive. Megan then decided to pursue her master's degree with the hopes of one day having the ability to work in a clinic and make a difference in the lives of so many patients that felt that they just were unable to get the mental health assistance they needed elsewhere. Megan attained her graduate nursing degree from Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 2020, amidst a global health pandemic and a corresponding surge in the mental health crisis. The current healthcare climate in conjunction with a number of both personal and professional experiences have ignited a passion in Megan to do her part in providing greater access to affordable, quality mental health care. In her free time, Megan can be found spending time with her husband and two boys, traveling, online shopping, reading a book, mindlessly scrolling Pinterest, and thinking about starting to ride her spin bike, maybe.
