Maritza Bujanos is a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. She began her nursing career in 1998 and has healthcare experience in multiple areas such as women’s health and community nursing with the adult and geriatric population. She chose to return to school, build upon her education and obtained a master’s degree in nursing in 2011 from the University of Texas at Edinburg. While working as a Certified Nurse Practitioner, Maritza saw the impact mental health had on the ability to improve physical health in many of her patients. Her desire to build her knowledge in this speciality area prompted her to later return to school to complete her Post-Master’s Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Maritza is passionate about educating others on choices and resources to meet their goals and live the most productive life possible. In her free time, Maritza enjoys outdoor activities such as fishing and hiking with her family of four children and three dogs.
