Maria Scarry is a certified Nurse Practitioner in Virginia. She completed her Masters of Science Degree in Nursing from Old Dominion University in 2012. Her certification was earned through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She went on to work in various health settings to include Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine. It was while working in the Emergency Department she saw a great need for providers in Mental Health. She has worked with the Community Services Board for each patient that required immediate attention for Mental Health Services. Her desire to fill in the gap and help those in need to regain control of their Mental Health and well-being has become her driving force for working with Cerebral. She feels the opportunity to speak with her patients and discuss treatment plans must be provided when the patient takes that first step. She feels that the strength it takes to reach out for help is monumental in any patient's life and must not be delayed, as the opportunity and momentum to pursue health can be missed.
In her free time she loves being with her family. Also, browsing Pinterest for ideas to do within her home, and trying new things like pilates, spin class, orange theory and working out in a group setting.
One small crack does not mean that you are broken, it means that you were put to the test and did not fall apart. - Linda Poindexter
