ABOUT Maggie M. Austin

Maggie Austin has been a nurse practitioner since 2014 working in family practice, including family practice on a behavioral health campus. Maggie went into nursing after she obtained a BA in psychology and family studies. Her first nursing job was in patient psychiatrics. Maggie Austin recently obtained her CMHNP certificate to go back to her passion helping and treating people with mental illness. Maggie feels that her dual certification will allow her to treat her patients holistically having knowledge in both body and mind. Maggie wants to help move this profession forward and destigmatize mental illness. In her free time she enjoys hanging out with her husband and 3 children. She loves camping, swimming, hiking and boating together. Maggie is a huge fan of music and loves to attend concerts and music festivals. She's is also enjoys watercolor paint and sketching. Maggie is a true believer that nature, music and art is required food for the soul and mental well being.
