Lisa Hanan is a broadly-trained, board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). She began her career as a social worker in New York City, working with people from a wide range of backgrounds, including children in foster care, clients with HIV/AIDS and substance use disorder, and the homeless. Deciding to also focus on her clinical development, she went on to complete six years of psychoanalytic training, and she started a thriving private psychotherapy practice. It was during this time, becoming frustrated with the lack of access her clients had to prescribers, that she decided to pursue her PMHNP degree. She is practical, down to earth, and strongly believes that everyone benefits from access to affordable, quality mental health care. In her free time, she gardens, spends time with friends and family, as well as her many pets, especially her Silkies and other chickens.
