Jacqueline Wolak is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Johns Hopkins University. She has over 8 years of nursing experience and 6 years in academics teaching graduate future nurses. Jacqueline continues to be a leader within the nursing community and in 2021 she received the 40 Under 40 Emerging Nurse Leaders Award. The 40 Under 40 Emerging Nurse Leaders Awards was established by the Illinois Nurses Foundation to highlight and celebrate nurse leaders who are impacting health care and the nursing profession today and who undoubtedly will shape the future of the profession.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, she transitioned from a longstanding pediatric neurology role at a leading nationwide children’s hospital to a new role in an Illinois emergency department conducting COVID research and providing remote care to COVID patients. This type of call to action is not new to nursing, the profession has played major roles in stepping into times of crisis to provide care and innovation that has saved lives and reduced suffering. During that time, she was inspired to promote the health and wellbeing of those patients with chronic medical conditions and mental health conditions. Inspired by Cerebral’s mission, she joined the Cerebral team with a goal of increasing access to care via telemedicine to people who need it. When she has free time, Jacqueline's hobbies are hiking, traveling, visiting family and archery.
Remember that your mental health is a priority, your inner peace is essential, and your self-care is a necessity. - Unknown
