Ilyasah Byfield is a board certified Nurse Practitioner, for over 15 years. She began her nursing career directly out of high school, becoming a licensed practical nurse and continued on to complete her Masters degree at Pace University. Her interest in mental health started from a young age; her mother worked as a mental health worker and would always explain the importance of how mental health impacted the person and those around them.
Mrs. Byfield has worked in multiple diverse settings, Neurology , Rehabilitation, Emergency Medicine , Family Practice and Wound Care. She also spent several years working in a psychiatric dual diagnosis unit in NYC.
It was during the pandemic that Mrs. Byfield had a heightened sense of mental strain and lack of resources for people across all spans of life. The need for mental health care and access is at an all time high.
When she is not working , Mrs. Byfield enjoys using her Peloton, biking , traveling and spending time with her husband, 5 children and their mini goldendoodle Ginger.
