She started her career working as a tech in a rehab clinic at the age of 17. Gwen went on to complete her Registered Nursing Degree and worked in many roles in several hospitals across the country. She received a Master of Science in Nursing and later a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of South Alabama and National University with specialties in Women’s Health, Psychiatry and Nursing Education. She has worked in many diverse areas including Nursing Education, Preventative Medicine, Women's Health, and Psychiatry. Her training experiences in both large metropolitan areas and very rural areas with limited access to health care have ignited a passion to provide access to affordable, quality mental health care no matter where a patient may be located. In her free time, you can find her with her family and finding another good book to enjoy.
